This is a clip card/task card product relating to mixed consonant digraphs: ch, sh, th, ck, ng, ph and wh. The missing digraphs are at the beginning, middle and end of the word. Content: Match digraph to picture - clip or dab and write Match digraph to picture task cards b/w Match missing digraph to the picture in the oval shape Match missing digraph to the picture in the oval shape (b/w) There are two colour sets which you can print, laminate and cut apart: 4 cards per page. The black and white sets can be cut and paste into students’ workbooks. This resource is ideal for early finishers and/or if you wish to assessment your students on digraphs. Preparation is required: print, laminate the cards and cut apart. Students use dry-wipe pens, dabbers or clothes pegs/pins to complete the activities. These worksheets relate to mixed consonant digraphs. It also includes reading comprehension and extension work on medial consonant digraphs. Content: Worksheets A to H: 6 simple sentences on each page. Reading comprehension and questions with associated activities Extra work on digraphs - complete a medial digraph worksheet Worksheets A to H: Students read the simple sentences and then circle the correct digraph for each sentence and write it in the blank space to complete the word. Reading comprehension activities: Sections A, B and C First students should read the text which contains missing digraphs (You will have a Teacher’s Copy). Once they have inserted the missing digraphs, they reread the text and answer 9 questions. Section C: This is extension work/worksheet for early finishers The worksheet contains missing medial consonant digraphs with pictures. Students should fill in the missing digraphs. Optional activity on reading comprehension for differentiation: In small groups or one-to-one teaching, students could read the text only and fill in the missing digraphs as a group and then discuss the questions. This product relates to alphabet uppercase and lowercase letters and pictures beginning with letters of alphabet and displays for classroom. Aa to Zz friezes (labeled and unlabeled pictures). Laminate and punch holes and thread through with a string to hang around the classroom or peg onto a washing line across a wall. Aa – Zz word strips and related pictures Laminate and cut out and place in resource center Students trace over the initial dotted letter with dry-wipe pen Alphabet cards Alphabet cards to be printed off as many times as you require, laminate and cut out. students can play alphabet snap. Match up - Match lower case letters to upper case letters. Other games – lay out 4 or 5 letters in alphabetical order, e.g. k, l, m, n, o, cover them over. Take a letter away without the students seeing and ask which letter is missing. Practice writing frames using Sassoon dotted font These are in upper and lower cases. Each one should be laminated. After focussing on e.g. ‘t’, students can practice writing over the dots and then without the dots on the line. Alphabet Mat Practice (trace over dotted letters) Copy and laminate Students can keep it in their own trays Alphabet Mat Can be laminated and blu tac to the wall in the writing/reading/book corner. Can be used to assess a student’s phonic progress - name and sound out the letters Alphabet Pictures Games The pictures represent the start of a letter e.g. ‘g’ for grasshopper. The pictures are not in alphabetical order so students have to look for the picture that begins with that letter. Enlarge the A4 size sheet to A3 and the sheet with the alphabet. Laminate the Alphabet Pictures sheet Laminate the Alphabet sheet then cut out each letter tile for use with Alphabet Pictures. Students can play in pairs. A timer can be set to make the game more fun. A student asks his/her partner to find the picture beginning with ‘s’. The other student picks out one of the letters and places it over that picture on the Alphabet Picture Mat. This product relates to alphabet activities for Pre-K/K, SEN and EFL/ESL students. Content Teacher’s notes 2 Sets of Aa-Zz puzzle pieces – Cut/paste Aa-Zz -Matching letters of the alphabet to pictures Aa-Zz - Tracing over letters and matching to pictures Cut and Paste to match Puzzle pieces Place a selection of Aa – Zz puzzle sheets on tables for children to cut out and match upper and lower case letters and stick into workbook or on a separate sheet of paper. They can trace inside the letters with different color pencils or crayons (rainbow tracing). For the uppercase part of the puzzle ask students to write words beginning with capital letters such as their name if it begins with that letter, a city, day or month, a place of interest etc and draw pictures. For the lowercase part of the puzzle, ask students to write and draw things beginning with that letter that does not always begin with a capital letter. Please see sample preview in preview pane. Matching letters to pictures and color activity ‘Aa is for’ to ‘Zz is for’ activity – tell children they need to color in the picture that begins with that letter and not to color in the other pictures. Tracing over letters and matching to pictures This alphabet activity is similar to the above except that the children trace over the dots. This product contains four different CVC word work and missing CVC words in sentences activities. Students read simple sentences and choose the correct rhyming CVC word, complete sentences with multiple-choice CVC words and read short poems with rhyming words. Set 1: Worksheets A and B - 10 sentences per sheet Students read each sentence and then match the highlighted word with the correct rhyming word. Students choose one out of the three choices in the box. Set 2: Worksheets 1 and 2: 10 sentences per sheet Students read each sentence and complete it with a suitable word from the box. There is a choice of three words but only one is suitable to complete the sentence. Set 3: Worksheets – Read and Spell Activity (1) – (4) Students read each sentence and then look at the picture representing a CVC word. This is an opportunity for students to sound out each phoneme, blend and then write the CVC word in the space provided to complete the sentence. Set 4: Worksheets – Poems with missing rhyming words A fun rhyming activity. Students can work independently, in pairs or you can make it a small group and/or whole class group activity. Poem activity: In order to fill in the gaps, students look at the picture which rhymes with the word above. Answer sheets are provided together with worksheets with black and white pictures. This is a reading comprehension for early readers relating to Valentine’s Day. The text contains high frequency words and decodable words. There are 4 questions and a sheet of general questions for the teacher/educator. Ideal for guided reading and for more able early readers who are confident in decoding words and know some of their high frequency words. Detailed Teacher’s Notes included. The teacher’s reading comprehension sheet is in colour and the duplicate sheet is in black and white for the children to follow with their fingers what the teacher is reading. As a whole group activity or individual work, children answer the questions. The general question sheet is for teachers to ask questions and for children to say the answers aloud. **Learning Aim: ** Listening and speaking activity relating to the passage. Can children follow words with their finger? Can they find the evidence in the story? Can they rhyme words? Can they find certains words in the text?
